SELECTserver Licensing

SELECTserver is an exclusive benefit of the Bentley SELECT Support program designed to assist your organization's CAD or Systems Administrator to more efficiently manage Bentley product licenses and even deploy this software. SELECTserver is the mechanism used to concurrently license MicroStation (both V8 and MS/J), all MicroStation Engineering Configurations, and many other Bentley products. SELECTserver consists of two independent applications, a license server and a software deployment module.

The license server is an easy to use and efficient alternative to node-locked licenses. Designed for use within a Local Area Network (LAN) the site administrator can monitor and manage Bentley software licenses from a single computer. Current features of SELECTserver's license server include:

• Emergency mode, to keep mission critical software in operation during network or server down times.
• License Check-Out/Check-In, for use with laptop computers and other off network situations.
• Partitioning, to independently manage departments or workgroups of licenses on a single license server.

The latest release of SELECTserver, version 7.3, features enhanced reporting to monitor maximum concurrent usage, and track usage by user or application, along with other new reporting abilities.

SELECTserver deployment (SSD) is an optional software deployment system designed to expedite the process of installing and maintaining Bentley products for many users with a site-specific configuration.
