InterPlot Client is the user interface to the network plotting solution. The Client product provides various methods of composing and generating plot requests: InterPlot Organizer batch interface, dialog interfaces inside MicroStation and AutoCAD, and a command line utility.

InterPlot Server is responsible for processing plot jobs submitted from the Clients. The Server allows users to offload their plot processing, which allows the user to quickly accomplish other tasks.

InterPlot Professional offers the same features as InterPlot Client, but adds the ability to plot by itself without requiring InterPlot Server. InterPlot Professional is designed for isolated computers or small networks where client-server plotting is not warranted.

InterPlot offers a series of drivers for commonly used, wide-format plotters in the case where the Microsoft- or vendor-provided printer driver falls short of performance or feature needs. These drivers are not required, but can be used in conjunction with InterPlot Client and Server to efficiently print large vector designs and raster drawings. The InterPlot Drivers can also improve plotting of any application that uses the Windows Print System.

Bentley's Digital Print Room technology works tightly in conjunction with InterPlot to allow you to publish your plots via the Web.

Digital Print Room

Digital Print Room is an extended form of InterPlot Server, which adds electronic storage, retrieval and delivery of plots over the Web or a company's intranet. Digital Print Room provides an electronic archive of plots in digital form that is accessible through the Web using Internet Explorer or Netscape. Digital Print Room makes it easy to share plots electronically with users, colleagues, vendors and others who need high-fidelity renditions plotted to scale, but do not have InterPlot or the original CAD system. The Digital Print Room products offer:

• Easy and immediate retrieval of digital plots
• High-fidelity viewing and scaled printing at remote sites over the Web
• Online viewing tools (zoom in, zoom out, fit, measure, copy to clipboard, create bookmark of views)
• Reduce need for physical plot storage facilities and administration
• Reduced use of paper and other consumable materials
• Elimination of courier charges and delays
• Current InterPlot workflow compatibility

Digital Print Room Enterprise 12-User adds the ability to distribute the file stores across multiple machines, archive an unlimited number of sheets, and distribute the server functions. It also includes additional administration functions. The Enterprise products support connectivity to other print rooms so that plot sets can be copied from remote archives to the Enterprise archive. Support for Oracle and SQL databases add security and data capacity for Digital Print Room information. Enterprise 12 gives Digital Print Room the ability to serve the enterprise, as well as small projects and workgroups. Archives can be shared with contractors or the general public. There is a limit of 12 concurrent Web viewers and one Web store, giving one entry point into the Digital Print Room.

Digital Print Room Enterprise Unlimited has no limits to the number of Web stores. With the addition of customization APIs, it can be customized with services available from Bentley. This customization can enable the Digital Print Room to become an E-Commerce site or a Web server for bid sets for contractors. There is no limit to the number of concurrent Web viewers.
