TriForma, one of MicroStation's Engineering Configurations's provides the building and plant industries with a common technology platform and consistent user interface for architectural and engineering design. This 3D, solids-modeling software provides a robust set of tools designed to address object management, component modeling, drafting, visualization, drawing/report extraction and interference review; resulting in faster, better, more cost-effective projects. MicroStation TriForma improves communication and coordination by laying the foundation for a suite of discipline-specific applications that address the needs of the many different professions involved in a building design or plant engineering project. As such, MicroStation Triforma is the base technology platform and prerequisite to operate all of the following Bentley software modules:

Architecture for MicroStation TriForma
Architecture for MicroStation TriForma automates the architectural design and production process, from conceptual design to construction documentation by integrating 3D modeling and 2D drawing production, reporting, visualization and animation for striking results. Architecture for MicroStation TriForma provides associativity between elements, space planning tools, parametric components, an AIA/NCS compliant dataset and the ability to create a wide variety of architectural geometries. Developed in consultation with leading architectural firms and built on the robust MicroStation TriForma platform, Architecture for MicroStation TriForma enables architects to design faster, better and more cost-effective projects.
Structural for MicroStation TriForma Structural for MicroStation TriForma optimizes MicroStation TriForma for structural design and construction documentation. Using parametric and solids modeling tools, structural engineers can create models of buildings, plants and other structures that contain both geometric and design attribute information. Rule-based floor plans, sections and elevations, as well as quantity and cost reports, can be extracted from these 'intelligent' models, ensuring coordination of construction documentation and synchronization with the design.
A variety of powerful features, such as automatic coping (cutback of connecting members) and global changes of member types and sizes, facilitate rapid and accurate modeling. Analytical models can be exported to structural analysis applications, while Visual Basic programs can further extend functionality--for parametric handrails, platforms, stairs and ladders, for example. Structural for MicroStation TriForma is fully integrated with ProjectWise, as well as Bentley Enterprise Navigator, Bentley Interference Manager, Bentley Schedule Simulator and Bentley Dynamic Animator.
HVAC for MicroStation TriForma HVAC for MicroStation TriForma is an advanced HVAC design application created specifically for mechanical building engineers. Its use ensures that implementation and training costs are minimized by using a familiar workflow process and by leveraging productivity enhancements native to the MicroStation TriForma platform. HVAC's 3D environment allows components to be placed in either plan or 3D views, and elevation data may be stored within the 3D environment. Regardless of whether your focus is drawing production or 3D, HVAC for MicroStation TriForma enables you to build a true mechanical systems building model in the MicroStation environment.
